Who We Are
In 2014, a group of citizens came together to establish a Buffalo Soldiers
Memorial Committee in Colorado Springs, Colorado to educate the community
on a somewhat unknown piece of western history in Colorado Springs and have
it is be the first of such memorials in the state of Colorado and to provide a positive
historical image of the Negro soldiers’ role in western history.

On behalf of the Committee, we would like thank you, your organizations, friends,
and families for joining our effort to establish a Buffalo Soldier Memorial here in the
city of Colorado Springs, Colorado. We appreciate your help in raising the funds
needed to build and sustain this memorial.

We worked with several local businesses to develop the memorial. The city of Colorado Springs provided an appropriate place to erect the memorial. We believe that working together, we made this project a reality. Your support through monetary and non-monetary donations assisted in completing this memorial.

We sincerely continue to believe that this Memorial is a great benefit to the economy of Colorado Springs and contributes to the City of Champions effort, while simultaneously honoring those brave Americans who protected and served so many years for our great nation.

We were able to acquire all of the funds required and dedicated the the memorial on July 28, 2016. We reached this goal with your help.
